Wayne Gretzky Tournament Champions |
The Burlington Mall, Atom A Team goes 4 for 4 in Tournament Play with a holiday win at the 42nd Annual Wayne Gretzky Tournament in Brantford.
Due to a strong TEAM effort, the Eagles took their 4th Tournament in a row, going undefeated in 21 tournament games this year. In Round Robin play The Eagles defeated the Atom AA Woodstock Navy Vets 2-0, the Amherst Knights 10-4, and the Brantford 99’s 2-0. Burlington advanced to the semi final game on their way to the finals where they defeated a host Brantford team 5-1. The kids were all very excited to get their pictures taken with Walter Gretzky.

Guelph Power Play Tournament Champions

Congratulations to “ The Burlington Mall, Ato m “A” Eagles” as they captured their 3rd Tournament Championship in a row.
During the Guelph Power Play Tournament (November 25-28, 2011) the Eagles went undefeated in 6 games to bring home the championship. The Eagles finished 1st in the round robin with 8 points, only to face a very tough team, the Barrie Colts. The Eagles truly played as a team and were able to outscore Barrie 2-1 in what was a very fast, two-way hockey game. Congratulations to the Barrie Colts for such a great tournament as they’re a fantastic hockey team!
During the weekend, the Eagles scored an impressive 16 goals for, while giving up only 3 goals against. The focus on “team play” was evident throughout the weekend, and the Eagles are now undefeated in 15 games in 3 tournaments. Keep up the great work TEAM. The kids are really working hard, they’re learning a lot and having a ton of fun.

Harvest Cup Champions!
The “Burlington Unis Lumin Minor Atom AA Eagles” went undefeated and won the annual “Best of the Best” Thanksgiving Hockey Challenge in Georgetown, October 7-10, 2011.
In round-robin play, the Eagles tied the Peterborough Nationals 1-1 and then defeated the Brampton Battalion 5-3 and the Orangeville Flyers 4-3 less than a minute into sudden-death overtime.
The Eagles beat the Georgetown Raiders 3-1 in the semi-finals just two hours before winning the championship game, beating the Mississauga Braves 3-2

The Burlington Mall, Eagles Atom A Team Wins the Empire State Showdown Tournament which took place in Rochester, New York on October 21-23, 2011.
The Burlington Mall, Eagles Atom A team won the 2011- Empire State Showdown Tournament in Rochester, New York. Burlington went undefeated with a 4 and 0 record, and they had an awesome 23 goals for and only 4 goals against during the tournament. The Eagles defeated the Oakville Rangers, Burlington Bulldogs and the Syracuse Blaze on its way to the Championship game. It was an all Burlington showdown between the Eagles and the Bulldogs for the Tournament Championship. The Eagles emerged victorious, with a convincing 5 - 0 win over the Bulldogs in which the Eagles dominated the game and outshot the Bulldogs by a huge margin of 25 to 8. The kids played great and put on a clinic for puck control, forechecking, and team defence. This brings the Eagles to an impressive season record of 19 wins and 1 loss.
During this visit to Rochester, the Eagles were also seen out supporting a former Burlington Eagle Josh Jooris, as he lead his Division 1, Union College team to a win over R.I.T.

North London Tournament Champions
The Vanguard Logistics Burlington Eagles Minor Midget A team won the North London Thanksgiving Classic Hockey Tournament.
The Eagles opened the tournament on Friday October 7th against the Southpoint Capitals, narrowly defeating the Capitals 4 – 3 thanks to a pair of goals from Connor Parnham and loan goals by Michael Murphy and Luke Shipton.
On Saturday October 8th the Eagles were defeated by the West London Hawks 4 - 3, with a pair of goals from Eric Mueller and a single goal by Aaron Smith.
The Saturday afternoon game saw the Eagles bounce back to defeat the home team North London Nationals 3 – 1. Goals scored by Aaron Smith, Michael Willick and Gavin Gaughan.
Semi final playoff action was a battle of wills as the Eagles jumped out to a two nothing lead in the first period to see this evaporated early in the third, falling behind 4 - 2 with 8 minutes remaining. With five minutes remaining in the third period, John Fearon provided the much needed spark to reignite the Eagles to start a flurry of 3 unanswered goals, stunning the Scarborough Young Bruins to come back and win the game with 32 seconds remaining by the second goal of the night by John Fearon. Other Eagles goals scored by Parker Willis, Michael Bates and Connor Parnham.
The Eagles advanced to the Championship game in a rematch with the West London Hawks. In a defensive battle, the Eagles prevailed to win the Championship by a lone goal from Michael Murphy with 8 minutes remaining in the third period. Shutout was earned by Blair Wilkinson.

| The 'Trenchless' Burlington Eagles Midget AA's won the Lefty Wilson Midget Championship in Lake Placid this past weekend. The Eagles went undefeated through the tournament, including a 3-2 win over the Vermont Bear Mountain Midget team in the finals. The Midget Eagles also ran the table in the skills competition, winning the shootout (Jeremy Caron), goalie (Carson Couture) and the relay (Dalton Monaghan, Owen Zerr) divisions. Players and Parents had a great weekend in Lake Placid! |

| The QBs Peewee A Eagles won the Peewee AA/A Rock and Roll Cup in Cleveland , Ohio last week . The Eagles had 5 straight wins on their way to the title. In the championship final, Burlington edged the AA Peewee Cleveland Jacks 3-2, backstopped by the excellent goaltending of game MVP Carson Chisholm. Michael Trigiani and Brandon Strom led the way with 8 points each , while goalie Scott Borrell had shutouts in both his starts. Great start to the season Eagles! |

The Burlington Eagles ATOM "A" Team went undefeated in the Humberview Huskies Bill Reaman Memorial Tournament on the weekend (September 15-18, 2011).
Burlington was undefeated on the weekend, going 5 Wins and 0 Losses, accumulating a whopping 42 Goals For and a slim 8 Goals Against in 5 games. The Eagles finished #1 in the round robin
with 8 points, and defeated the Clarington Toros 9-2 in the Championship game. The Toros were undefeated in their division, and while a solid team, they were unable to keep up with the
relentless pressure, strong D and incredible team play of the Eagles.
